35STp heatshrink cable joints are designed for connecting multi-core cables with paper insulation.
The cable joints must be operated at ambient temperatures from -50°C to +50°C and relative humidity of up to 98%.
Design of 35STp heatshrink cable joints
The cable elements are insulated and sealed using heatshrink components (breakouts, sleeving, hoses) and mastic tapes.
The cores are jointed with bolted connectors with anti-corrosion chemical coating.
The metal shield is made of double-stranded metal mesh.
The metal sheaths are jointed using a solderless grounding kit.
The electric field strength is equalized with the help of control tapes, semi-conducting materials, and outer layer of insulating sleeving.
Due to constant improvement of materials and technologies, the cable joints design may be soon modified.
