The dry-type cast resin transformers supplied with enclosure are marketed under TSZL mark (transliteration of the original Russian abbreviation “ТСЗЛ”), where “З” stands for “protected”.
The enclosure is a metal box that protects the transformer either against ingress of foreign objects or water droplets, depending on the design version. The enclosure is a must when TSL transformers are to be installed in an open site (for example, in a production shop) or in a room with high humidity.
The IP rating is indicated with an IP abbreviation mark and a two-digit number, the first digit indicates the level of protection that the enclosure provides against access to hazardous parts (e.g., electrical conductors, moving parts) and the ingress of solid foreign objects, and the second digit indicates the level of protection that the enclosure provides against harmful ingress of water. The IP rating of the transformer provided by the enclosure – IP10 to IP33 as listed in the table below.

Dripping water (vertically falling drops) shall have no harmful effect |
2 |
Protection against dripping water when tilted at 15° |
Vertically dripping water shall have no harmful effect when the enclosure is tilted at an angle of 15° from its normal position. |
3 |
Protection against spraying water |
Water falling as a spray at any angle up to 60° from the vertical shall have no harmful effect. |
4 |
Protection against splashing of water |
Water splashing against the enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect. |
“Transformer” manufactures enclosures for the entire line of produced transformers (of every capacity). Impeccable metal finish and high-quality coat of paint guarantee durability and reliability of these products.
Design version
The enclosure design is as simple as it gets when it comes to assembly and maintenance. Swing doors on the HV and LV sides facilitate changing of taps and preventive maintenance (inspection, tightening of socket and threaded connections).
The basic design version offers connecting busbars made of aluminum, while the non-standard design version — busbars made of copper. The material of the connecting busbars is selected by the customer. At your request, we can copper-plate the contact pads of the aluminum busbars by gas dynamic spraying method. The dimensions of the connection busbars depend on the transformer capacity.
The enclosure grounding leads are located on the two short sides. When the enclosure is supplied in assembly with the transformer, the transformer is connected to the enclosure with flexible copper grounding jumpers. When the products are delivered disassembled, a set of jumpers is attached.
The enclosure is coated with scratch-resistant powder paints with a high degree of adhesion to metal. Coating indoor service life — at least 15 years.
