Isolation TSL transformers

Isolation TSL transformers are manufactured in versions with wide variety of wiring diagrams and vector groups. Transformer voltage class: 6 kV, 10 kV. We can manufacture transformers with various specifications, including freeze-thaw-stable, low noise, low-energy-loss transformers, etc.

Purchase reliable and durable isolation cast resin TSL transformers rated for 6 and 10 kV.

Concept of isolation transformers

An isolation transformer is a unit designed to convert HV electrical energy into 220/400 V electric currents suitable for industrial or domestic use. The primary winding of an isolation transformer is isolated from the secondary winding using the electric circuit isolated method. For this purpose, manufacturers use either double or reinforced insulation, or conventional insulation and an additional protective shield.

Safe isolation transformers generate alternating current of no more than 50 V and direct current of no more than 120 V.

Scope of Application of Isolation TSL Transformers

The dry-type isolation transformers are used where it is necessary to provide galvanic isolation between the primary and secondary windings and isolate the equipment from the ground loop. The isolation transformers increase the equipment operation safety compared to equipment directly connected to a power line.

According to the Requirements for Electrical Installations, bathrooms are classified as areas of high risk due to the high humidity, presence of running water and abundance of metal items without stable grounding. 220 V outlets may be installed only in designated areas and, in addition, must provide protection against electric shock. It is in these cases when the outlets are connected through isolation transformers.

The use of isolation transformers in industrial electrical installations also reduces the risk of electric shock, since the current that occurs  in the event of a failure of the insulation will be negligible (due to galvanic isolation on the secondary winding). If it is necessary to ensure the supply of electricity to premises that pose rigid requirements for electrical safety (areas with high humidity, healthcare facilities), isolation transformers with isolation control and remote control stations (RCS) are used.
