Freeze-thaw-stable TSL transformers (climatic category UKhL3) can operate at ambient temperatures from -60 to +40°C, while the TSL standard design version (climatic category U3) is designed for operation at ambient temperatures from -25 to +40°C.
Freeze-resistance is ensured due to the use of a special cast insulation composition and special manufacturing technology.
“Transformer” freeze-thaw-stable dry-type power transformers have brown windings. The basic specifications, overall dimensions, and connection sizes of the freeze-thaw-stable TSL transformers do not differ from those of the standard design version.

We offer reliable and long-lasting freeze-thaw-stable dry-type cast resin power transformers. Those are standard TSL transformers manufactures in the climatic category UKhL3 design version.
These freeze-thaw-stable TSL transformers rated for 25-3200 kVA are always in stock. Rated HV — 4-10 kV; rated LV – 400 V.
Design features of freeze-thaw-stable TSL transformers
The transformer winding is brown. In terms of operational characteristics, the freeze-thaw-stable TSL transformers are no different from standard TSL transformers manufactured in the climatic category U3 design version. The same applies to the dimensions and connections.
The cast resin TSL transformers have an important advantage, they are completely protected against fire, since the compound made of epoxy resins is fire-retardant, smolder-resistant, and does not release toxic substances even when heated to high temperatures (complete environmental friendliness is guaranteed).
For this reason, these units for converting high-voltage electrical energy into currents suitable for domestic use can operate in offices and even residential buildings. It is TSL transformers that are used at chemical, metallurgical and nuclear facilities.
Operating conditions of freeze-thaw-stable TSL transformers
Freeze-thaw-stable TSL transformers manufactured in climatic category KhL3 design version can operate at ambient temperatures from -60 to +40 °C. For comparison, the minimum operating temperature for TSL transformers is -25 °C. This advantage is possible due to the use of cast epoxy insulation and step-lap core manufacturing technology.
